School communication software where the circular actually reaches the parent

Every school already has a communication system. It's a WhatsApp group with 240 members, no way to tell who read anything, and a parent asking about a circular that went out three weeks ago.

SkoolBook's communication module puts announcements where families already are — the mobile app — and targets them properly, so the hostel notice doesn't go to day scholars and the staff memo doesn't go to parents.

What you get

Targeted, not broadcast

Address an announcement to everyone, or to parents, staff or students specifically — and narrow it further to particular sections.

Mobile push, not a login prompt

Announcements reach parents through the SkoolBook mobile app, so the notice arrives rather than waiting for someone to log in and go looking.

Priority for the ones that matter

An urgent announcement is flagged as such, so a school closure doesn't sit at the same visual weight as a sports-day reminder.

Circulars with the actual circular attached

Announcements carry images, so the notice you'd have printed and pinned to a board can go out as it is.

Role-aware by default

What a parent can see and what a staff member can see are enforced server-side, not by which screen they happen to open.

How it works

  1. 1

    Write it once

Staff compose the announcement, attach an image if it's a circular, and set its priority.

  2. 2

    Choose who gets it

Target all, parents, staff or students — and optionally specific sections.

  3. 3

    It reaches them

Published announcements go out to the mobile app and appear in every recipient's portal.

Frequently asked

Does SkoolBook send announcements over WhatsApp or SMS?

Not today. Announcements are delivered through the SkoolBook mobile app and the web portal. WhatsApp and SMS delivery are planned — and we would rather say that plainly than list an integration that isn't built.

Can we send a notice to one section only?

Yes — announcements can be targeted to specific sections as well as to a broad audience like parents or staff.

Can parents see staff-only announcements?

No. Audience is enforced on the server against the reader's role, so a parent's request for a staff announcement returns nothing regardless of how it's made.
